We just had one of the most incredible shows we’ve had in a while. We played Fort Benning’s giant Independence Day celebration this evening.
My first military show EVER was at Fort Benning. My Daddy did his Officer Candidate School Training there. And we have now played 4 shows – all completely different events for them over the years.
All I could see from stage was a sea of soldiers.

And they were PUMPED and ready for a good time. We officially had the most number of crowd surfers this evening. And one of my favorite parts of the entire night was when I sang “Miss You The Most”. They all started holding up “hearts” in the air, were swaying, and pulling out any substitute they could find for a lighter. They all started holding up their water canteens and swaying them back and forth to the music
Singing that song for those men was an extremely powerful moment that I won’t soon forget.
Many of the guys were asking about the song after the show. I promised to post it on the blog tonight. Our acoustic Youtube video of it will have to do until we record this one!
I can’t say enough about how much fun we all had tonight. It was so unbelievably hot, which so didn’t even matter when it’s such a fun show!
All the rest of the photos are on the Photos page where you can click on them to enlarge or download!
Happy 4th of July!!! Again!
Peace. Love. Fiddle.
