We made it to Jacksonville! I was all mentally prepared for a rough one… but it really wasn’t that bad. James drove the first shift and I took over about 4am. We got there about 8:30am and had a couple of hours to sleep! So I got us some rooms at a cheap hotel, we all napped… and headed to Jacksonville University.
They had us set up right on the water and as we pulled up, we could see dolphins jumping in the bay! SOOO COOL! There was a full carnival set up with a ferris wheel… The “swings” ride… food… face painting… water slides… and then our show.
We had a few brave souls that were willing to brave the sun shine and sat in front of us. But the sun was glaring down right on the metal benches… and so most of our crowd was to the side of the stage. We had pulled a huge group of em out to the front for the last half of the show, though. Always makes ya feel like you’ve earned it. I even jumped down and we were all singing and jumping together on “Where Would I Be Without YOOOOOOOOOOOOUUUU!!!!”
Thank you Dolphin Productions for taking care of us and being so great! We had an awesome time at FinFest!
We hopped in the van after the show and are driving back up to South Carolina for our show tomorrow. We’ll finally get to sleep whenever we get in late tonight. That bed is gonna feel sooooo good….
Peace. Love. Fiddle.
